Great news for Europeans and those few U.S. users of music streaming service Spotify. Sonos, creator of the super cool (my descripton) S5 music player, is announcing today that users will soon be able to listen to streaming Spotify music through their Sonos devices.

Inventor Roger Linn is famous for creating the drum machine as we know it today, so there’s good reason to be excited about his latest creation; it has just been revealed. It’s a multi-touch surface not all that dissimilar to an iPad. Take a look at the video here to see for yourself.

If you're an iPhone owner and Tap Tap Revenge fan, you may be surprised (and pretty excited) to see that Tapulous has devoted a whole Tap Tap installment to Nirvana this week

When we were kids, the classic Sony Walkman Cassette Tape Player, the radio, or a massive “boombox” was what we used to listen to our favorite tunes. Times have certainly changed, haven’t they? Now we have options like MP3 players, satellite radio, Internet radio, and others, that put our favorite music at our fingertips and make music more readily available than ever.

Ten mucho cuidado, iTunes.

The service will be available in the following countries: UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria. Unlike on iTunes, users won’t be buying individual tracks or albums, but paying a monthly fee instead. This fee will be roughly $14 per month, but it varies slightly in different countries.

Apple has reportedly just purchased Lala, a music service probably best known as a partner in Google's new music search results. Lala offers streaming access to its music library at a rate of 10 cents a track for unlimited replays. Does this mean a cheap streaming option will eventually come to iTunes?

If you’re not from the US, this sounds familiar: a cool new music or video service launches but when you want to test it out, you find out it’s not available in your country. The music recommendation site Pandora is one of many victims of a world that doesn’t have unified copyright regulations. Fortunately, there is a valid alternative out there that features worldwide availability: Grooveshark. Did I mention that it’s free?

Since its debut, Shazam, the music discovery tool, has remained one of the most popular applications in Apple’s App Store.

Last week we reported on Google’s new music discovery features. The Google music search endeavor is partnership between Google, MySpace, Lala, and several others to make music search and discovery a primary feature of the Google experience.

If you consider your music tastes a little more adventurous than FM radio, you probably already know that the internet is a gold mine for good yet rather unknown music.

DigABand, which just launched in private beta, is hoping to help independent artists manage their online presence easily and through and single platform.

As MySpace has lost ground to Facebook and other competitors in the social networking world, it's increasingly focused on something it's always done well: music. Being a musician on MySpace just got a lot easier, thanks to new analytics features that give you a better picture of who's visiting your site and listening to your music

No, apparently Google is not planning something that "big." Rather, they're working to add functionality to Google Search. And by functionality, I mean something that sounds like revenue-generating links for Google without the complexity of creating a digital storefront.

If the idea of yet another music streaming service sounds like yesterday’s news, think again. Although limited on details, Bloomberg is reporting that Rdio, a venture backed, music streaming subscription service for archiving, sharing, and listening online or via mobile phone, will be made available in early 2010.

I'll admit I felt a little dirty after visiting MySpace for the first time in years, but I had a good reason. There's an announcement up at www.myspace.com/Windows with some good news for free music fans.

Moof’s acronym explains the app for itself: music, online, on-demand, for free. The tool works like iTunes, but on the web – thus why it claims to have 'all the functionality of a full desktop media player, in your browser'.

Rock Band Network, currently in closed beta, should launch to the public in August (with in-game sales later in the year), and allow for any wanne-be or tried-and-true beat master, music mixer, or soulful singer to add their music to the Rock Band catalogue for user purchase and game play.

Quick Pitch: BandCentral is an online band manager that is revloutionising the way unsigned bands communicate, get organised and promote themselves online.
